I feel like on newgrounds traditional art isn't valued as much as digital. Either that or my art work sucks major bananas. Either way it's horrible the outcome. I've gotten some pretty good comment reviews that are encouraging however the votes on the left side of the page are always low. So depressing. What is there to keep me motivated? I do a lot of traditional art and if it's always going to be compared to digital how is that going to be rewarding in anyway? Oh poop. I wanted this to be more than just a hobby of mine.

you're new here; you should know that the votes don't really mean anything. The people who actually explain their reasoning and leave reviews are the only people that you should worry about. above all else, you shouldn't let the opinions of others be the primary factor in your motivation to create artwork, otherwise you are going to have a bad time.

Touché! Thank you!

You are relatively new here so I should clear some stuff up.

Votes mean next to nothing, its just a excuse for jealous people to 0 and fanboys to 5.
Its all about downloads and reviews.

I'm not sure if Art has downloads like audio but it does have reviews. The more high rating reviews you get, then the better.
Keep working at your art if you love it and want it to be more.
Don't give up because a few faceless internet dweebs gave you a low score :)

Thank you!

Digital art is probably valued more because of how easy it is to make it seem smooth and fluent, unlike traditional art where the tools you use actually define the texture. Just keep doing what you like to do, don't let the scores sway your creativity!

Thank you! I appreciate the advice!
